I haven't actually tried the board yet. I was very disappointed to find that it arrived very warped. Seems a bit overpriced and I wish I had looked in a local store for either this or another comparable product. Haven't decided if I will ship it back because of the charges.

A good chalkboard for the money. I primed it as a commenter suggested in a previous review (by rubbing the side of chalk all over the board's surface). Afterward the chalk wrote on the board fine, and I pressed normally. Good value.

This chalkboard is a fantastic value! My son loves it and it is the perfect size for his play corner. I browsed some stores before purchasing at Amazon and the prices for this size board were often double or more. We really love this chalkboard!
Homeschooling my preschooler (2009-07-13) : 4/5
This chalk Board is great for homeschooling my toddler. I purchased big chalks to draw on concrete, but instead used them on this chalk board. I draw alphabet letters, numbers, and shapes so my daughter can learn. My daughter practices writing and drawing on the board also. Great tool for homeschooling!

The description for this item mentions you can write easily with chalk....but beware....this isn't a typical chalk board like you remember from school.....there's a reason this sells for such a small price......very poor quality...chalk can hardly be seen...be wary.....
